Wifi and Ethernet at same time

Hi,
I have wifi and Ethernet connected to my lappy
I am wondering how it ‘works’ with both connected
Do I get the two bandwidths added?
or is it only using one or the other?
Can anyone tell me please?
Thanks

The WIFI is usually dropped in favor of the LAN. You can make them both work at the same time, but there’s nothing to gain if their accessing the same router.

Thanks @eight_bit_al :+1:

You can turn ‘data’ off on your phone and use the free WiFi from your router though.

I keep my phone ‘data’ off because when I’m out I only use my phone to phone someone or get calls.
I turn WiFi off when I leave and on when I get back.
For this reason I only have a 3G data pack.

I don’t know if channel bundling cable and wireless is possible, but that already doesn’t work with wire - wire (in the home).

My question was just to understand how it works, I am getting intermittent internet and not sure where it is coming from. I am getting more than enough speed when its up
as the same when dual booted into Win10 - but that is a known prob I think
could be my provider
fibre optic cable connection problem sorted
Ethernet is through power link electricity socket thingy
Router is a piece of crap from Portugal developed by provider
could be ASUS problem
I have no idea, seems to happen after a while, just loose internet (not connection)
rebbot or restart netman usually does job, I think (or it could just be that in the time taken for restart the internet comes back up.
