(Solved)Install without intel-code?

#1

Is it possible to install archlabs without intel-code being installed? Or a way to remove it and use my cpu microcode?

Hello

What manufacturer cpu do you have and which bootloader did you choose?

The install should detect which and set up the right microcode, if the other is still present you can remove it with rm /boot/XXX-ucode.img, it shouldn’t be loaded unless specified. Grub should do this automatically, for others it will be correct as it’s specified in the kernel boot parameters.

If it isn’t loaded for whatever reason and you did choose grub, then it’s an error in the installer and you will need to install the correct ucode package yourself

pacman -S amd-ucode

regenerate the grub config

grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

It should now detect it correctly, let me know if you run into any issues.

See here if you want to know more or think I didn’t explain clearly enough https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Microcode
