So you must keep it always plugged in. After my colleague’s battery died while installing a new kernel, I bought a replacement battery. 71Wh instead of default 47. My laptop leaves the desk at home twice a year, but a power failure may happen any time.

So essentially, your laptop is now your desktop. I only have a desktop, and don’t have any issues. Except when the electricity goes out. But then you also don’t have access to the Internet as well for the same reason.
