First thing for me: chsh to bash
Honestly, I expected Cachy to have some stuff (that I usually add to Arch) preinstalled, judging from over 800 packages OOTB. For instance udisks
. No added value for my use case.
Well, their Hyprland implementation is nice, but it’s strange they have Cachy SDDM configs available in their repo’s but don’t apply them. Btw, in their Wayfire they use nwg-panel, as I briefly saw. For now it’s a good vehicle for me to get into Hyprland, but that’s it.
Interesting. Nwg-panel has no suitable taskbar module.
No yet.
You never know.
Lol, with some good porter, nothing s out of reach !
I’m gradually running out of porter. Still playing with the CashyOS installer, which is pretty frustrating.
Yes, 6th attempt and the last porter. Next time I’ll buy a whole case. Or there’ll be no next time.
No, it’s Waybar.
Anyway, I’ll be setting up Hyprland on clean Arch anyway. Prefer that over on top of Archcraft or Cachy.
I failed installing Hyprland on Cachy. Tried together with Wayfire, and it died 4 times in a row.
Before we get kicked out of the thread My life became a lot better after I decided to immediately wipe if a distro didn’t install in 2 times or missed essential, basic things/functionality.
Our supply lady asked on Friday what to do with two boxes of floppy disks. I advised her to wait 10 years and sell it to the Museum of Technology.
BTW: can’t wait for my new monitor to arrive. Expected on Monday.
There’s something weird going on with hyprland over the last week or so. I’ve had to swap out hyprland with initially hyprland-git and later hyprland-bin
Will let you know later today, I intend to use the bin file
