I’m thinking about running my own email server… trying to decide if I want the headaches. I did it a few years ago, and it wasn’t to bad.

Definitely not. I did it last time in 2000/2001 and wouldn’t like to try again.
It’s not to hard to set up using things like Mail-In-A-Box. It’s always a great learning experience managing a server…
You’re right. But I expect my mail server to be reliable. It’s impossible with my $50 worth UPS, and the LTE loosing connection 3 times a day for no reason.
If I do it, I will throw it on a VPS with Linode or DigitalOcean… I don’t have the infrastructure to host anything from my apartment.
