@ector , thx for clarifications here mate.
Have you patched the old kernel for all of the vulnerabilities that have been published since then?
empty@Xanadu:~ $ uname -a Linux Xanadu 4.17.11-zen1-2-zen #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Wed Aug 1 21:12:02 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
% uname -a
Linux The-Goddess 4.17.11-zen1 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 29 10:11:03 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
no, also because I do not know what to do, as I have already written several times I’m not an expert on the subject.
I also do not hold anything important on the notebook, I have everything on external disk.
I have only a firewall active
to date, however, on the trading platform that I use to play, I have not had any intrusion, I have only 3000 euros on that paittaforma, 4 years that nobody touches anything, I do not see for what reasons why someone should be introduced into my pc.
@Head_on_a_Stick , patch much appreciated mate.
I’m installing linux-zen, see if he heats me too, the cpu 15 degrees more than the kernel 4.8.14-1
@ector , usually it ran hot on my installs, lets see what it will do on your install.
Thanks @altman, tomorrow or later I’ll let you know now it’s installed, I left the 4.18 kernel, I also lts but unfortunately it warms up a lot.
@ector , always good to have a kernel backup .
I restarted seems to keep the temperature, as with 4.8, now we’ll see with the editis of ageisub if it maintains the temperature.
[don@don-pc ~]$ uname -a
Linux don-pc 4.17.11-zen1 #1 ZEN SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 29 10:11:03 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
@ector , that s great, lets see what it does when under load, if you happen to have some stuff going on at the same time.
I’m doing timecode and frame / sample with aegeisub is the teperation seems stable, very good.
@altman I suggest you try it
@ector. Thx for the comeback, I m using Xanmod which s pretty much like Zen. Using it for some years now without issues.
Linux BioHazard 4.17.11-arch1 #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Jul 29 10:11:16 UTC 2018 x86_64 GNU/Linux
@anon37345411 , you re biohazard now ! lol That s some kernel !
I really love dwm man, have been using it as my daily (and only) driver for a good while now and I don’t see any reason to use anything else, at least personally.
I just use the stock kernel so nothin fancy here
