New AL-220821 laptop install with stuff missing

Hi!
I am having trouble with a new install on laptop.
I have tried to install a few times with same result and then used new USB-stick and downloaded imaga again a few times but I get the same result. No network, at start. I managed to get wired going but there are no software for wifi, no nmcli, lspci -k shows nothing.
. No wallpaper. I am rather sure itś not the computer.

Could not see anyone else having anything like this.

How did you get it to work last time?

Is that a new laptop @womp or a reinstall.

If new, what it is as it might be of any help.

Last time was an older install-image with no problems.

It’s a HP probook G1. Last time I installed on that was a year ago with no problems.

Is baph still in AL-repositories? I do not have it installed. More and more things seems to be missign.

Use the same image to install. You can still find old images online.

Need @natemaia to confim, but I doubt he’s removed any core pkgs in the new install image. Nevertheless, you have wired connection now, you should be able to install any driver/pkg you need to get it going. Good luck.

Have a look at that thread;

Then try to update the installer, might do the trick here;

pacman -S archlabs-installer

The run;

Ok. I don’t even have “make” instlalled so I guess will try a combined arch-install.

I edit my latest post @womp . It might help you .

I just tried my oldest AL-image (22.01) and got the same result. I have managed to get wifi during install but after install all network is disconnected and no wifi software.
I guess I could do an Arch-install and then add archlab-mirrors?

womp

Shit, what was the one that worked for you before, I would give it a try.

I have now tried all I have. I think that installer updates and somehow breaks part of the installation.

I am doing the Arch-way now.

womp

Well, that sux, it might have to do with updates or such. Even if not installed which would be weird.

By this stage (semi-newbie as I am) I have done many installs and never seen anthing like this.
Now I have wifi!!
Can’t reach any AL-packages though! (repos are in pacman.conf).
I didn’t even have nano installed!

womp

Wow, very basic install . Anyways, this is some progress !

Yeah! It’s a slow process but nevermind. I want AL !!

womp

Yep, slowly but surely right !
