Ncmpcpp tag editor

So I’ve been using ncmpcpp forever and I never ever figured out how to edit the tags.

I keep getting error writing to tags to the and no such file or directory

mpd.conf
bind_to_address “127.0.0.1”
#bind_to_address “~/.mpd/socket”
music_directory “/home/haxnet/Music”
playlist_directory “~/.mpd/playlists”
db_file “~/.mpd/mpd.db”
log_file “~/.mpd/mpd.log”
pid_file “~/.mpd/mpd.pid”
state_file “~/.mpd/mpdstate”
audio_output {

 type  "pulse"
 name  "pulse audio"
 device         "pulse"
 mixer_type      "hardware"

}

audio_output {
type “fifo”
name “my_fifo”
path “/tmp/mpd.fifo”
format “44100:16:2”
}

    ncmpcpp config
    # Files
    mpd_music_dir = /home/haxnet/Music
    lyrics_directory  = ~/.ncmpcpp/lyrics
    ncmpcpp_directory  = ~/.ncmpcpp
   # mpd_host = "localhost"
   # mpd_host = "127.0.0.1"
   # mpd_port = "6600"
   # mpd_connection_timeout = "5"
   # mpd_crossfade_time = "5"

any ideas?

I just go into the editor and it works. ‘6’ takes you to the tag editor. You shouldn’t have to do anything else to your config.

Pushing F1 brings up a Help screen.

It doesn’t write. I keep getting Error writing tags, no such file or directory exists

Might have to uninstall and reinstall everything

I just uninstalled and reinstalled…still doesn’t work. I’ve been trying to figure this out for 8-10 hours now. Github had this issue multiple times throughout the years, but no solution.

Can I see someone’s config files for both mpd.config and the ncmpcpp?

I fixed it. I just renamed mpd.db to mpd.db.old and now it works…omg
