My quest for package removal

Under 800 packages, because GUIs are overrated.

My AL with some BlackArch’s tools

I was always bad at this game though:

empty@buster:~ $ dpkg --list | grep -c ^i
empty@buster:~ $

and I don’t even have a GUI file manager installed…

Hehehe, I did have thunar, but I got rid of it because I never used it. I think Dobbie has 1500 packages or so currently, so you’re in the clear probably

I’m not going to tell you all how many packages I have installed but it is a lot.

What if I were to say … All of them!!!

LOL - Im in the same boat as Dobbie. My apps are all text-based but I do have most of them backed up with a GUI version as a JustinCase

too many window managers installed

Hehehe, your username checks out then :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

A scratch under 1500 packages. I need a clean out.

Out of curiosity, how many (if any) of those are orphans?

Absolutely zero. Just done a clean up and removed a ton of crap, currently at 1399 packages.

Eeexcellent! This makes me happy

Me too, just removed another 70 packages

@Dobbie03 No one expects the Package Inquisition!

Surprise is their chief weapon!

Well, that and a very small on-disk footprint

EDIT: and ruthless efficiency!

So true in there @LionessAlana

Ah Monty Python, how boring life would be without them.

…and so the great clean out of 2018 continues.

Go forth, and sudo pacman -Rns with extreme prejudice.
