I hadn’t seen this section, already posted but thought I’d say hello
Been in Portugal for decades, but hail from Essex (the sloightly on the hu’h bit), UK
When I was born, England were world champions - I am THAT old
Cant remember how long I have been playing around with Linux, 5 years?
In order (with lots of multi-booting and VM experiments along the way):
Ubuntu,
Xubuntu,
Manjaro XFCE,
ArchBang,
EOS-i3,
ArchLabs (openbox)- love it to bits - thanks~!!!
I decided to stick to openbox for AL as I already have XFCE (Manjaro), i3 (EOS) (plus Archbang) on my laptop
Win 10 as well for work stuff but want to move into FOSS FEA and CFD solutions (if anyone is into this please let me know)
Other old laptops (ASUS X200E and EeePC) with AB, EOS and AL
I have read that the user base of AL is very well-informed - I’m sorry to bring that average right down
I bumble around asking and reading and cobbling my knowledge together with no real overview of what is going on. A metaphor for my life
Was just a throwaway comment, but Football, one of the sports that is played worldwide
Hate it myself, terrible role models for youngsters, and just about money
Sailing is my thing, but burnt out on the competitive thing as a teenager and do it just for fun
Actually it is much like Linux - I enjoy pottering around repairing and tweaking my little boat as much as sailing it.
… Although we are the most successful Olympic sailing nation of all time
Same goes with the NFL “football” here lulz. They are trying to establish an NFL franchise over in London, I don’t know how that’s going to work. But it’s all about money. Not the quality of the product.
