Megasync not starting at start up on i3wm

Using i3wm, nothing else. Megasync fails to launch at the start up, have to launch it manually to sync files.

I know this because if I login to mega.nz, files are not synced if I don’t launch megasync manually.

I have a megasync.desktop file in ~/.config/autostart

File’s contents:

Type=Application
Version=1.0
GenericName=File Synchronizer
Name=MEGAsync
Comment=Easy automated syncing between your computers and your MEGA cloud drive.
TryExec=megasync
Exec=megasync
Icon=mega
Terminal=false
Categories=Network;System;
StartupNotify=false
X-GNOME-Autostart-Delay=60

You may want to add it to your i3 config… add this line to it and try…

exec_always --no-startup-id megasync

Fantastic. Solved.

A follow-up question: is it possible to minimize megasync GUI so it’s not floting in front of another app? I can send it to an empty workspace but it would be cool to minimize it on start up.

Maybe scratchpad? https://i3wm.org/docs/userguide.html#_scratchpad
