Seems to be confirmed: the 5.6.15 kernel, still slightly troublesome on my AMD machine, behaves perfectly well on systemd-less Void Linux.

scrot

[edit] It seems I need a new location for my screenshots. Scaled down that much are useless.

is polybar a lightweight version of the cinnamon/mate/xfce window managers? It looks really nice!

No, it’s the system information along the top of the screen. You can see a different configuration in my yaxwm screenshot.

It’s a bar like lemonbar or dzen2 with built in modules to display information; or you can write your own script/module and display that. Uses more resources than conky, but it’s easy to make clickable modules for menus or pop-up boxes.

The forum has a dedicated polybar thread; check it out.

that means it’s not a cinnamon replacement?

Correct.
The window manager in that scrot is fluxbox. Polybar is just a tool to display some system information and/or menus. I have a module for jgmenu. Polybar has no dependency on Gnome or any other DE.

Nice shot @Chris

@nwg thanks for wallpaper, nice shot in air
