Is Debian installer working on lilidog bookworm? I checked it last night and the kernel/modules are still mismatched with d-i

You can get around it using the bullseye or Sid d-i sometimes.

I didn’t try to install. According to this page, the Alpha 2 installer should work. Lilidog also includes a Calamares installer, /usr/bin/install-debian. I assume it does the installation if the Debian installer has a problem.

That’s what I’m doing as well (calamares when debian installer doesn’t work). @sleekmason and I have discussed it. The installer works fine but the kernel and udeb packaged modules get mismatched. I’m hoping during hard freeze it will work again. It worked perfect right after soft freeze started.

Playing with swayfx. None of their bells and whistles (rounded corners, window shadows, unfocused windows dim) is what I need, but I wanted to check if it works.

Nicee @nwg

In Edge 111.0.1661.44 ChatGPT seems to have gone online finally. Yesterday the latest sway version it knew was 1.6, and Ashleigh Barty was still WTA number one.

Have you tried adding to /auto/config?:

--parent-debian-installer-distribution 'daily' \

Bookworm currently is building and installing fine. ‘Man lb config’ gives a bit of info on the similar options. I end up adding and removing the above line frequently to the file for testing during the freeze periods.

Hanging around on CachyOS still, now with my big challenge Gnome  Gotta say they make it very lean, hardly anything extra installed, except for Tweaks, Alacritty and the Pop shell. Clocks in below 800Mb. Whatever I think about the Gnome project the DE still feels like the most polished one for a laptop.

I was doing daily before bookworm worked briefly. Isn’t “daily” Sid? There is a disconnect between the repos and d-I so I’m not sure I understand their suites and components correctly.

I agree. For multi-headed setups, however, i3 / sway fits me much better.

Nicee @sleekmason @Peppe

I’ve used the ‘daily’ line when building sid as well. Seems there are still a few more tricks too, as it doesn’t always work and something more winds up being required.

I struggle with the documentation a bit when trying to find examples or reason behind some of the options. Wish I had better info for you.

After seeing @Peppe playing with CachyOS over the last day or two, I decided to take it for a spin.
