Linux + Weebs - the connection

What is it with linux and weebs? Seriously. You can have the nicest screenshot but as soon as I see any anime or weeb bullshit suddenly your screenshot isn’t so good.

What is the connection and why is the weeb shit so prevalent in Linux. Please explain it like I am a 40 year old white male. Who listens to Metal. Who doesn’t understand Japanese weeb culture or the West’s embrace of the more messed up side of Japanese weeb culture…

Don`t understand that too. For me it is OK, but one thing i find strange.
First i thought that this are kids who posted such anime stuff, but in the meantime i have “observed”, that a lot of this shots are from adults. AND this is strange. (for me)

Question: What is “weebs”?

Yeah it’s like the My Little Pony craze a wee while back. Mental.

That is one I’ll never understand.

I always figured weeb / weeaboo came down to soft core porn mind candy. Like using Boris Valejo artwork for your wallpaper back in the late 80’s - early 90’s.

Happiness comes in many ways…

Erm, I’m a big anime & manga fan. I prefer to be called an otaku though, “weeb” is somewhat pejorative. And I like Boris Valejo.

Also:

You made me giggle!

I get there is some really good Anime / Manga out there. Don’t think I am dumping it all in the one bin labelled “Weeb” (people do that with Metal and it irritates me a quite a bit) but using /r/unixporn as an example it all seems to be the Weeb level of Anime. Nearly every screenshot has something weeb-ish about it.

I will never call you oatku HoaS, in my mind you are a Sensei. A Linux Sensei at the Arch Linux Dojo.

Actually, so do I.
Probably get some really good color palettes from a Vallejo or Bell image with azote.
