Only if you want to load any new kernel modules. So yes.
Yeah. I have read that you don’t have to reboot after an update but I have noticed that wireguard will not work unless I reboot. (wireguard-dkms).
No biggie but just curious. I have one install of EOS and there I always get to reboot after a kernel-update. (Is that made for being more beginner-friendly?)

If you wanna load the new kernel on the fly, you could try kexec. No reboot is needed.
Do I kexec -linux-5.10xxxx ?
