Having trouble changing font on polybar

Dear esteemed forum members,

I am aware of how to change the font in polybar by going into the config and manually changing the font to the correct size and type I prefer however I am having trouble with a specific font that I have on my system and that does work in gtk applications but cannot seem to register when I input it into the polybar config. I would like to use terminessTTF nerd font medium size 15 but whenever I input it into polybar config the bar does not change (yes even after reboot). My assumption based on my limited linux experience is that I have entered the incorrect name.

How do I go about finding this name?

Sincerely,

Thrawn

Hello sir, would you mind sharing the name of the font you want to add?

You’ll want to change the following in ~/.config/polybar/master.conf

This:

font-0 = "DejaVu Sans Mono:size=10:antialias=false;2"

To this:

font-0 = "TerminessTTF Nerd Font Mono:size=15:antialias=false;2"

I prefer the original terminus personally

First install the font package:

sudo pacman -S terminus-font

Then change the line from above to:

font-0 = "xos4 Terminus:size=15:antialias=false;2"

You can use the menu to restart polybar or run:

al-polybar-session

Hope this solves your issue

Cheers,

I know this is already been solved, but to get a list of installed fonts, in a terminal, type
fc-list

Thanks, this is helpful for when I finally get bored and change the font to another one.
