Here’s another blast from the past:

I have to skip Natures Way, because the radio ruined it for me.
Way ahead of their time.

At the time I was crewing on a 110’ sailboat with a powerful sound system. It sounded like being inside a guitar while it being plated. So loud the dishes would rattle out of the cupboards.

Incredible the mood you can create with an overdrive pedal, a slide & just a couple of notes @PackRat :guitar:

I remember when I first heard One of These Days…still one of my favourite Floyd songs.

Have stood the test of time @dobbie. :grinning:

I don’t know about you guys but does your favourite Floyd album stay static or does it always switch between Meddle, Animals and The Wall like it does for me?

Maybe it’s mood orientated there? Meddle, mellow and comforting. Animals/The Wall, bleak, angry and political. Maybe my state of mind at the time dictates my fav?

Personally, it’s hard to have a favorite album of a legendary band. There’s so many great cuts spread over a career.

In terms of an entire album, I’m partial to Wish You Were Here.

I suppose when I say ā€œfavourite albumā€ I probably mean, most listened to. Which in itself is probably a favourite album.

I like Wish You Were Here a lot but the three I mentioned are a little more personal I suppose than WYWH. Animals first listen is something I remember very clearly. I was and probably still am a huge Floyd fan.

Great memories. My were as young boy … a product of my home environment. Later on in the game of life, a friend (who is now deceased) gave me his Momentary Lapse of Reason CD. I think it may have been the first w/out Roger Waters.

PF is '70’s deep. Our parent’s generation. My teenage years were the very early MTV days. From a rock 'n roll perspective, the LA scene was our own playground.

Although I don’t listen to alot of music these days, I’m sure we’re all partial to where we came from.

Love these old prog bands.

Depends on my mood, but anything from Meddle to Animals is all good. Dogs has some of the best lyrics ever.

Syd Barrett’s last song with Pink Floyd:

Listen close. Some real nuance to this song.
