Boot only in fallback mode with 4.18 kernel

On my laptop (an old toshiba satellite A300) kernel 4.18 can’t boot. only fallback mode boots. LTS kernel runs well.
Reading somes forum I learned that one of the difference beetween normal mode and fallback is the use of hook autodetect. Somes remove it in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf

I read other solution in Arch forum :
disabling ipv6 autoload in /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf :

  # disable autoload of ipv6
  alias net-pf-10 off

It seems to solve problem with kernels 4.18. Perhaps these kernels need to be updated ?

If it can help someone…

Thx for that, keep it on .

I think the rule of scheduled obsolescence is only valid for our machines (in software) :joy:, it seems that in October the LTS 4.19 will be released.

Linus Torvalds: Linux 4.19
Kernel org: LTS
