And if a man is a born sailor, and has gone to the school of the sea, never in all his life can he get away from the sea again. The salt of it is in his bones as well as his nostrils, and the sea will call to him until he dies. - Small-Boat Sailing by Jack London
This book is so funny
And this is so cool about how the round the world races all started and the amazing characters involved
Anyone got something similar to this:
I want to tape something like that to a pole and see the bottom of my boat & the mooring block at max 3 or 4 m
They kept my last one at the hospital a couple of years back
I sent the internal photo of my @50 yrs backdoor viewing to a mate in the UK
He thought it looked very sci-fi, but couldnt work out what it was,
It was very clean - the meds see to that - ooofff! - After I told him (making sure it was around lunchtime) he suddenly lost his appetite
Sorry, I grew up with workshop level humour
Re: the Lillidog OS thread
My first dog was called Lilly, a real German ‘Seehund’!
RIP Lilly & thanks for all the memories
NB: ONLY ever did this with an empty bottle, but she loved the taste
rip Lilly !
Quite a beautiful boat.
Having never sailed on a gaff rig with the topsail, how is it done?
The topsail is setup on the gaff before the gaff is raised?
The topsail can be raised and lowered independent of the mainsail?
The sheet for the topsail comes down the gaff and then down the spar?
Lovely boat; thx for posting this.
