Any Motorsports/Motorized Vehicles Fans!

I would love to think that we get better with age, but I have too many modified parts now.

Sure is!
It is the dog’s in terms of technical info too - which is amazing given the basic level it starts from (like which way to tighten a nut)
I just found out that he was a structural Engineer at NACA (the ‘predecessor’ of NASA) before dropping out - so that explains a lot!

Tells you how to go back to seeing the world with kid’s eyes too - so cool

Wasnt he from down your way, @anon99136783?

Names of models were different in UK, not sure if a cortina was a cortina in Canada

My dad had an MkII escort 1600E and a black special edition Capri too

Mum had a renault gordini that even had a crank to start it (which was helpful as as a kid I would nick her car battery to do electrolysis experiments in her kitchen - once a geek …)

I had an obscure name drop vehicle too:
My PK 50 Vespa (That I souped-up to 80  ) given to me by Simon le Bon’s brother :joy:

After putting in the new cylinder, there was no speedo and I asked my mate to follow me in his VW camper to see how ‘fast’ it was. When I stopped at a roundabout he was looking down at his speedo and so crashed into my back sending me sprawling across the roundabout. A bloke passing by started having a go at him and so I said that it was OK as he was my mate. ‘Some F*#cking mate’, he said :joy:

My mate in the Algarve has that now - I sold it to him after getting him (and me) drunk on bagaço in the early hours in the Bairro Alto. I thought I had done a great sneaky deal, but now they are worth a bomb and he wont sell it back to me

Shelby and the whole effing story behind it is everything that keeps us OFC’s off the statins and into this world of valves, bhp’s, powertrains, Jayne Mansfield and having fags and whiskeys when we goddammit want to!

EDIT: straight bourbon shots, a cold beer on the side and Gauloises or Bastos cigarettes!
